Views of the Sibley Expedition drawn by H.F. Knieff [graphic] 1863.

Henry F.J. Knieff painted several watercolor scenes of the expedition. The original paintings are believed to have been destroyed when the Minnesota State Capitol burned in 1881. Cartes-de-visite copies of these paintings were made, many by Benjamin F. Upton and Whitney's Gallery, both of St. Paul, Minn.
